OUR MISSION

Messiah Lutheran School is committed to excellence in education in a Christ-centered environment. Messiah Lutheran School trains students in the Word of God. It is our hope and prayer that each child entrusted in our care will learn about the love of Jesus and how we receive salvation through Him alone!

CHRIST-CENTERED ENVIRONMENT

  • Daily interaction with God’s Word gives children a sense of purpose in their everyday lives
  • Students are given real-life opportunities to serve the world we live in to God’s glory
  • Students, parents and the teaching staff contribute to a caring family environment distinctively Christ-centered

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Messiah Lutheran School is a member of the Wisconsin Lutheran Synod School system, the fourth-largest parochial system in the nation.

The curriculum at Messiah Lutheran School is an extensive one, and each child is able to receive individualized instruction due to the small class sizes here. Each room is intentionally capped at approximately 20 students in order to maintain greater teaching interaction. Each of the students is taught all of the core classes, including religion, art, physical education, and music instruction. In addition, each classroom has Internet access and is equipped with a computer lab where the children receive instruction on how to properly use them.

Each of our teaching staff holds at a minimum a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and/or child development from an accredited and well-respected college.

BENEFITS OF A MULTI-GRADE CLASSROOM

Multi-grade classrooms have contributed greatly to the WELS school system’s 150 years of academic success.

  • These classrooms are filled with a great range of books, materials and stimuli, which are available to all students, no matter what the grade level.
  • Teachers use these resources to deliver excellent small-group instructions in the classroom for each child.
  • The opportunity to have a student in the class for more than one school year strengthens student/teacher/parent relationships and facilitates positive school experiences.
  • It provides an environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of students.
  • A multiage setting provides frequent opportunities for development of student leadership.

A recent Canadian study of multi-age classes all over North America concluded that “students in multi-grade classes tended to be higher or better than those in single-grade classes in the following affective areas: study habits, social interaction, self-motivation, cooperation, and attitudes toward school.”

FAMILY SETTING

Messiah Lutheran is a small school, with a maximum of 60 students to be accepted this upcoming school year.

The school body is intentionally kept small during the entire school year to promote greater teacher interaction with the students. We foster a close-knit family atmosphere. You can be assured that your child will not get lost in the crowd!

Parents and teachers work closely together as partners—each teacher being readily available to the parents. Our teaching staff is fully committed to the school’s mission.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR

Messiah Lutheran School also offers a number of extra-curricular activities in which the students may participate. We believe this is an excellent way to help your child(ren) better use their talents and abilities. Volleyball, flag football, basketball, track, and softball are the five sports offered for boys and girls in the 5th - 8th grade. The students are also given the opportunity to participate in an art fair, forensics competition, spelling bee, as well as many others.
